Question: How should adults in 2012 "parent" their
children? Lend your opinion on how this should be done. Think about the approach your parents/guardians have taken in raising you. Consider the
parenting you've seen of others in your peer group (how your extended
family parents your cousins, or how your friends parents deal with your
friends), and finally, think about the parent you might want to be
someday. How would you go about raising your children? What standards
would you hold them to (if any), what rules would you impose (if any)?
- I think that in year 2012, in a child perspective, I think that parents should rely on their children more. I'm not saying this because I'm a child, I think that parents should freedom should be given at first. If the child decides to make a poor choice that would disappoint the parents, then the freedom should be limited. Freedom should be earned from the parents, I think that it would have a major impact with relationship. Of course, the children won't always make the right choice. But, as long as honesty plays in between the rule, I don't think it should be a problem. Independence is required as a child because they need to adapt the society, and able to learn from their mistakes. There is nothing better than learning from mistakes, and experiences teaches the best when you're going through puberty. Teenage life is whole new perspective and requires freedom. To do that, you need trust from the parents. That's what builds relationships with your parents and how to bond with the family more. My parents tend to take the risk trust me, but there are sometimes that I let them down or able to make it through. I would consider this normal relationship because there will be ups and downs due to the fact that the child won't always make the right choice. If there are problems, communication is the key and discussing it would make the problem a lot better. The ability to solve problems by communicating is the success between the parents and children.

Race issues in America today
How would you sum up race-relations in America today, and more specifically, what is your own personal experience with it? What do you see are some of the more important issues, ideas, controversies at the heart of race-relations in America today?
Throughout the history of the United States, race issue had been major controversy and still impacts today. I have witnessed a racial issue at the airport during my immigration to the United States. It was year 2002, and cause of 9/11 terrorist attack, the airport security was really tight. Through the metal detector, I've witnessed a small family that was pulled aside by the securities due to their female family members wearing a headscarf. It happened around age 9, so I had no idea that was a really big deal. Now, I realize the country of freedom crosses the Bill of Rights, that protects the basic rights of the United States citizens. The racial issue had increase due to the 9/11 terrorist attack, and it caused the government to break the basic rights. Major racial issues still continues today, and I consider the United States can't be 'united' due to the racial controversy. The United States faced many race issued since the beginning, and it will continue to affect this country. This issue breaks the balance of freedom that our founding fathers built. The stereotype that people accuse will cause chaos due to their skin color.
